My great, great grandfather was a world traveller and collected many rare, beautiful, and often one of a kind items.
I remember growing up admiring all the plates, clocks, jewelry and other fine collectables around the home. This particular
clock still chimes to this day. With a lovely angel standing atop it, this clock is absolutely stunning. I have never seen
another like it. It weighs in excess of 30 pounds. The face is enameled and the initials
JoB
with a
C around them is found at the top of the face. I believe this has something to do with the Joseph Brothers
who were in some way involved with the Waterbury clock company..perhaps as designers. The marble base sits atop four gilded
legs and four marble columns sit atop the marble base extending to the base of the angel.
Waterbury is
plainly inscribed across the works in the rear of the clock. It has a number of jewels but at present I don't
remember the number. It does have a registration (?) number of some type as well. This beauty deserves a place of importance
to be regally displayed and unfortunately having small grandchildren and german shepherd dogs around the home, I cannot guarantee
its safety if I was to display it as it deserves to be displayed. My hope is that someone can give her a place to be admired
and enjoyed for years to come. You may contact me via:
